Lattice Boom Cranes
Lattice boom crane rental
Lattice boom crane rental gives heavy-lift contractors, EPCs and renewables teams the reach and capacity for the projects telescopic cranes can’t handle. We rent lattice boom cranes worldwide from our terminal in the port of Rotterdam, up to 1250 tonnes.
Tell us the load, the radius and the location, and we match you with a crane that fits the lift.
Worldwide lattice boom crane rental
We offer worldwide lattice boom crane rental for projects where capacity, radius and stability outweigh setup speed.
You can rent a lattice boom crane for:
- wind turbine erection on onshore and offshore wind farms;
- refinery and petrochemical turnarounds;
- power plant construction and module installation;
- bridge sections and major civil works;
- shipyard and offshore yard heavy lifts.
We rent on a dry hire basis. The crane and its boom sections arrive ready for assembly, and your team handles rig-up, operation and dismantling, so lattice boom crane hire stays straightforward.

What is a lattice boom crane?
A lattice boom crane is a heavy-lift crane with a boom built from a steel truss instead of nested hydraulic sections. The open W-pattern of the lattice makes the boom strong yet light, which is why these cranes can lift more and reach further than a comparable telescopic boom crane.
The boom is assembled from pin-and-bolt sections at the site, in lengths chosen for the lift. A luffing jib and superlift counterweight can be added for taller picks and extra capacity. Best-known brands include Liebherr (LR series), Manitowoc, Terex Demag and Sany.

Lattice boom crawler and all-terrain crane types
Lattice boom cranes come in two main configurations. The lattice boom crawler crane runs on tracks and is the workhorse for the heaviest, longest lifts. The all-terrain lattice boom crane sits on a wheeled chassis, which makes it road-legal and faster to move between sites.
| Type | Best for | Setup |
|---|---|---|
| Lattice boom crawler crane | Wind farms, refineries, power plants, multi-month lifts | Tracks for soft ground, can travel with load |
| All-terrain lattice boom crane | Projects with road moves between sites | Rubber-tyred chassis, road-legal, outriggers on site |
Both types can be configured with a luffing jib, derrick mast and superlift to extend reach and capacity for project cargo.
Lifting capacity and heavy-lift applications
Capacity in our lattice boom fleet runs up to 1250 tonnes, with main boom lengths into the hundreds of metres in luffing-jib and superlift configuration. Capacity drops as the load moves further out on the boom, so main boom length, radius and tip load all need to be checked together for your heaviest pick.
Typical applications include:
- wind turbine nacelle and blade installation;
- reactor, vessel and module placement at refineries and chemical plants;
- generator, transformer and boiler lifts at power plants;
- bridge segment placement and major civil works;
- heavy machinery relocation on industrial sites.
Why rent your lattice boom crane from Adrighem?
You rent from a family business with more than 50 years in heavy equipment and a clear, no-nonsense way of working. We keep communication lines short, pricing competitive, and the rental, sale and purchase process simple.
Our 14-hectare terminal in the port of Rotterdam has 200 metres of quay and a 9-metre draft, with direct sea access for fast worldwide shipping. Maintenance runs in-house, and the fleet covers Liebherr, Terex Demag and other trusted brands, so the cranes you rent are inspected and ready before they leave.
To check availability or request a quote, tell us:
- project location;
- load weight and lift height;
- required radius and main boom length;
- rental period and preferred start date.
Send us the details and we will match you with the right lattice boom crane for the job.
Frequently asked questions
What is a lattice boom crane?
A lattice boom crane is a heavy-lift crane with a boom made from a steel truss instead of hydraulic telescopic sections. The truss is strong but light, so the crane can lift heavier loads and reach further than a telescopic boom crane of similar size. The boom is assembled from pin-and-bolt sections at the site, in the length the lift needs.
What is the difference between a lattice boom and a telescopic boom crane?
A telescopic boom extends and retracts hydraulically, which makes setup fast but limits how far and how heavy the crane can lift. A lattice boom is assembled in fixed sections, so setup takes longer, but the lighter boom gives more capacity and reach. Telescopic suits short, varied jobs. Lattice suits heavy, long-duration lifts.
How much does it cost to rent a lattice boom crane?
The cost depends on several factors, so we quote per project rather than list fixed rates. The main drivers are the crane size and capacity, the rental period, the boom configuration you need, and the shipping distance from our Rotterdam terminal. Tell us your project details and you get a clear quote.
How much can a lattice boom crane lift?
It depends on the model and configuration. Our lattice boom fleet runs up to 1250 tonnes, with capacity falling as the load sits further out on the boom. The right number for your project depends on main boom length, radius and the use of luffing jib or superlift counterweight.
Can I rent a lattice boom crane short-term, or rent with an option to buy?
Both are possible. You can rent short-term for a single lift or campaign, long-term for a multi-month build, or rent with an option to buy if you expect repeat use. Because we rent, sell and buy cranes, we help you pick the option that fits your project and budget.
